A delicate white waxgill with a dry, silky fibrillose cap, free to adnexed distant lamellae, and a fragile, hollow stipe that is often twisted. Unlike Gliophorus and Gloioxanthomyces, Humidicutis mavis lacks glutinous tissues entirely and has non‑gelatinised hyphae throughout.

Pileus: 10-40 mm diam.; Conical when young → plano‑convex; older specimens often radially splitting. Colour: Ivory to whitish. Surface: Silky fibrillose; dry; slightly striate toward the margin. Texture, thin, fragile.
Lamellae: Free to adnexed. Distant. Colour: White; gill edge concolorous; even. Consistency: Dry, non‑gelatinised.
Stipe: 20-60 x 3-8 mm, cylindric, equal or attenuated at the base. Colour: Concolorous with pileus. Surface: Silky, dry. Often twisted.
