Small violet‑blue coral with dichotomous branching, crystalline trama, and a distinctive rosy‑then‑olive KOH reaction. Spores small, spiny, and broadly ellipsoid. One of the most colourful and unmistakable Ramariopsis species.

Fruitbody: Up to 20 mm tall and 15 mm wide, dichotomously branched throughout.
Stipe: To 1.5 mm thick, tapering downward; base with a tiny pale‑violet subiculum.
Branches: Axils acute in lower ranks, lunate in upper ranks. Rich blue‑violet (“Ramler‑blue”, “dull violet‑blue”), fading downward to light brownish drab.
Apices: Slate‑violet to dark slate‑violet, abruptly tapered but rounded.
Odour/taste: Not recorded.
