A very small, dark, lilac-tinged species with a hemispherical to convex pileus (10-20 mm), fuliginous over the disc and paler toward a weakly striate margin, finely fibrillose and dry.
Pileus: 10-20 mm, persistently hemispherical or convex, often with inconspicuous, obtuse, conical papilla, fuliginous over disc, paler towards weakly striate margin, radially innate fibrillose, dry, membranaceous, occasionally radially wrinkled.
Lamellae: 24-28 reaching stipe, 1-3 lamellulae, ventricose, up to 3 mm wide, adnexed or emarginate, at first sordid with pale lilac tinge, slowly changing to pink, entire edges concolorous.
Stipe: 35-75 x 1.5-2.5(-3) mm, cylindrical but more often tapering gradually towards the base, pale but brilliant lilac or bluish, towards base always whitish or sordid, covered with minute, silvery fibrils over whole length, basal mycelium absent, dry, hollow, solitary.
Context: concolorous, fragile.
Odour/taste: not distinctive
