Wax-yellow, striate, leptonioid species with slender clavate cheilocystidia and no clamps; on kauri wood or debris.

Pileus: 20-30 mm diam., hemispherical to convex, soon depressed or subumbilicate at centre. Colour pale argillaceous with a yellow tinge, becoming wax‑yellow in age. Disc covered with minute, concolorous squamules; margin strongly transparent‑striate, hygrophanous, dry, thin.
Lamellae: 28-32 reaching stipe, with 3-7 lamellulae; adnexed to emarginate, up to 6 mm wide. Initially pale wax-yellow, gradually dirty pink; edges entire, concolorous.
Stipe: 30-65 x 2-3 mm, cylindrical, equal, wax-yellow to honey-yellow-brown, darker in the lower half. Mycelium and lower stipe often pale orange-red with age or handling. Surface smooth, dry, hollow; solitary.
Context: concolorous.
Odour/taste: not distinctive.
