A small brown umbilicate species with cinnamon‑pink gills, strong farinaceous odour.

Pileus: 10-30 mm, with the centre persistently depressed or umbilicate. Colour fuscous; hygrophanous; strongly translucent‑striate toward the incurved margin. Disc distinctly squamulose or scurfy, becoming innately fibrillose toward the margin. Dry.
Lamellae: 24-36 reaching stipe, with 3-5 lamellulae, broadly adnate to arcuate‑decurrent. Initially pallid, gradually turning cinnamon with a pink tinge. Edges entire, concolorous.
Stipe: 30-50 x 1.5-2.5 mm, cylindrical, equal, isabel to cinnamon, paler than pileus. Smooth, dry, solitary, with white basal mycelium.
Context: concolorous, unchanging.
Odour/taste: strongly farinaceous or rancid.
