Lamellae: 24-32 reaching stipe, with 7-15 lamellulae, broadly adnate to emarginate, later becoming adnate. Ventricose, up to 4 mm wide. Initially whitish or pale beige‑grey, gradually turning grey-pink. Edges entire, eroded, or fimbriate; concolorous or pale brown.
Stipe: 30-70 x 2-4 mm, central, cylindrical, equal; buff or pale brown, becoming yellowish toward the base in old basidiomes. Smooth to innately fibrillose, sometimes longitudinally grooved. Base with white mycelium. Dry, fistulose; solitary or caespitose.
Context: brittle, whitish, dark brown beneath pileipellis, unchanging.
Odour/taste: Odour not distinctive, occasionally weakly farinaceous. Taste bitter to rancid.
