Pileus: 20-40 mm wide and up to 40 mm tall, distinctly conical, with a sharp, persistent conical papilla. Margin not inrolled. Colour mouse‑grey, becoming paler as it dries; the apex may show a yellowish tint in older fruitbodies. Surface innately fibrillose, dry, and not striate.
Lamellae: free or narrowly adnexed, ventricose, grey when young, later pinkish as spores mature; edge even and concolorous.
Stipe:40-80 x 4-7 mm (occasionally to 12 mm at base), cylindrical or slightly attenuated upward, often twisted; mouse‑grey, paler toward the whitish, villous base; hollow, brittle, dry, and typically solitary.
