A rare, grey-brown Telamonia-like cortinarius with grey-blue lamellae, a dry white stipe with grey=yellow squamules, and coarsely verrucose spores. Distinguished by its pale grey-brown fibrillose cap, grey-blue young gills, pale yellow–ochraceous veil, and weak NaOH reaction. Occurs gregariously in Nothofagus forest.

Cap: 35–55 mm diam.; hemispherical to convex to plane. Surface viscid, weakly or not hygrophanous. Colour pale grey‑brown, densely fibrillose and squamulose. Disc becomes pallescent and glabrous with age. Margin not striate.
Lamellae: Grey‑blue when young, later greyish. Attachment free. Moderately crowded (L = 60, l = 2). Edges concolorous.
Stipe: 30-70 x 6-13 mm; dry, cylindrical, sometimes with a small piston‑like bulb. Colour white, covered with grey to yellowish squamules along entire length. Apex concolorous. Veil pale yellow to ochraceous‑grey, fairly copious. Cortina rudimentary or absent.
Context : White to pale violet, marbled grey‑blue.
Odour/taste: Odour sweetish, sometimes strongly so. Taste none.
