A small to medium Nothofagus‑associated Telamonia distinguished by its dark grey‑blue gills, deep blue context, and yellow‑ochre veil. The pale grey‑brown to purplish‑brown cap, often with ochre fibrils and orange‑ochre fringes, appears muted in the field, but the species becomes unmistakable when cut.

Pileus:15-60 mm, dry, weakly or not hygrophanous. Colour pale grey‑brown to purplish brown, sometimes nearly blackish brown. Surface ± covered with coarse ochre fibrils and felty zones; disc later orange‑brown and slightly granulose. Margin with orange‑ochre fringes, often slightly corrugated, becoming lacerate in age.
Lamellae: Adnate to emarginate, distant; saturated dark grey‑blue. Edge concolorous, occasionally lilac, even to weakly crenulate‑serrate.
Stipe: Up to 80 x 15 mm, cylindrical to slightly clavate, often somewhat flattened and tough. Silvery grey‑violet with ochre tufts and belts; young specimens show a strongly violet apex.
Veil: Greyish yellow to pale ochre, darkening to orange‑ochre, copious. Cortina pale grey to violet‑grey.
Context: Deep blue when young, darkening to dark bluish grey; later flavescent in the stipe.
Odour/taste: Odour faintly raphanoid; taste nil.
