A small to medium olive-yellow Telamonia-like cortinarius, recognised by its dry, fibrillose brown-yellow cap with an olive-brown to olive-black disc, olive-yellow to pale cinnamon lamellae, slender pale-yellow stipe with brown-orange fibrils, and subglobose, moderately verrucose spores. A distinctive species in Nothofagus forest, with a characteristic olive-brown context and NaOH dark-brown to red-brown reaction.

Cap: 15-50 mm diam.; obtusely rounded to convex‑conical. Surface dry, finely to coarsely innate‑fibrillose, hygrophanous. Colour brownish‑yellow, with an olive‑brown to olive‑black disc, sometimes with orange tinge. Margin brighter olive‑yellow, striate with darker yellow‑brown fibrils.
Lamellae: Attachment adnate. Distant (L = 28, l = 2). Colour olive‑yellow to pale cinnamon when young. Edges concolorous.
Stipe: 35-80 x 3-9 mm; tall, slender, cylindrical, often slightly expanded at base. Colour pale yellow to citrinous, with an absorbing sheen. Covered with sparse, thin brownish to orange fibrils and bands. Veil yellow‑brown to orange‑red, sparse.
Context: Olive‑brown in pileus. Yellow‑brown to olive‑yellow in stipe.
Odour/taste: Odour and taste raphanoid.
