A medium‑sized yellow–orange Dermocybe‑like cortinarius with a chestnut‑red disc, yellow to ochre lamellae, sulphur‑yellow stipe, and distinctive yellow veil belts.

Cap: Up to 50 mm diam.; hemispherical to conico‑convex to broadly umbonate or campanulate. Disc red‑brown or chestnut brown; margin yellow to orange. Surface viscid to subglutinous when moist, innately fibrillose when dry, often radially wrinkled. Hygrophanous. Margin distinctly striate, with fibrillose to agglutinated semipersistent veil remnants.
Lamellae: 10-20 primary lamellae, with 5(-7) tiers of lamellulae. Attachment emarginate, sometimes subdecurrent with a short tooth. Shape ventricose, up to 5 mm wide. Colour yellow, ochre, or orange, turning rust‑orange in maturity. Edges concolorous or paler, fimbriate to subserrate due to cheilocystidia.
Stipe: Up to 70 x 7 mm; cylindrical or subclavate, often subfusoid at base; solitary or cespitose. Colour sulphur yellow to yellow‑ochre. Below the cortina are several yellow to yellow‑brown viscid veil zones and belts. Surface dry (except veil remnants when fresh), longitudinally fibrillose. Hollow at maturity. Often with yellow rhizomorphs.
Context: Yellow-orange in both pileus and stipe.
Odour/taste: Odour and taste raphanoid, often faint.
