A distinctive yellow club fungus characterised by its spiralling, twisted fruitbodies, a feature that immediately separates it from most other Clavulinopsis. Known primarily from Australia; New Zealand material is likely rare.

Fruitbodies: Slender, cylindrica,lunbranched, typically with a noticeable spiral twist along part or all of its length.
Apex: Rounded or slightly tapered; sometimes paler than the mid‑section.
Colour: Yellow to deep yellow‑orange; may fade with age.
Surface: Smooth, matte to slightly glossy.
Base: Narrow, whitish, sometimes slightly rooting.
Size: 20-70 mm tall, 1-3 mm thick.
Flesh: Soft and flexible when fresh; brittle when dry.
Growth habit: Usually scattered, sometimes in small groups.
