A medium to large Agaricus of native forest litter, superficially resembling Agaricus arvensis in its stature, thick veil, and pale yellowish cap, but differing in its forest habitat, simple ring, lack of almond odour, and absence of strong yellow staining.

Cap: 60-140 mm diam.; convex to broadly convex, sometimes flattening with age; surface pale cream to light tan, often with fine cracks or fissures in older specimens; dry, smooth to finely fibrillose; margin even, sometimes splitting.
Gills: free, crowded; pale pinkish‑brown in youth, becoming dark chocolate‑brown at maturity; edges even.
Stipe: 70-150 x 15-30 mm; stout, white, smooth to finely fibrillose; base not bulbous; sometimes slightly tapering.
Ring: simple, membranous, persistent but not thick or double; no cog‑wheel pattern beneath.
Context: white, firm; no rapid yellowing; may show faint, slow yellowing at extreme base only.
Odour: mild, mushroomy; no almond/anise, no phenolic smell.
