| SPORANGIA: total height 2 to 8 mm., in small clusters, cylindrical or elongate-ovate, stalked, lilac-brown. STALK : black, shining, 0.5 to 2 mm. tall. 20-33% total height, the base keratinoid and hollow. COLUMELLA: reaching the apex, giving rise to delicate capillitium CAPILLITIUM: a dense network of flexuose, dark brown threads, the ultimate branchlets slender, uniting to form a smooth or spinose, close surface-net, which is usually incomplete or sometimes absent entirely. | ||
| SPORES: Pale lilac-brown, 6-8 µm diam., reticulate with narrow, raised bands. Plasmodium: ? | HABITAT: On dead wood and leaves. DISTRIBUTION: Cosmopolitan, known from Auckland and South Canterbury. | |
