Species: Gliophorus species

Description:

I origanly fought this was G. viscaurantius but are not so sure now as G. viscaurantius has decuernt gills were these do not. Unfortunitly there are no other Gliophorus species that have yellow gills. So can only assume it a species not yet described. DESCRIPTION: Pileus -20 mm, convex; reddish brown to brown darker in centre, paler blue to grey towards striate margin, fading to grey as it dries; glutinous, glabrous, hygrophanous. Lamellae 10-14 (1-3), adnexed; dark yellow or sometimes white, changing to pink as it dries, edges entire, concolorous, glutinous thread absent. Stipe 15-35 x 1.5-3 mm, cylindrical, equal tapering at base; concolorous with pileus becoming ochre yellow near and at base; visid, fistulose, single. Context not looked at. Odour not distinctive, Taste not tried. Chemical reactions on pileus: KOH - bright orange/yellow Spores 8-9 x 4-6 µm, ellipsoid. Basidia not measured, 4-spored. Cystidia absent. Pileipellis an ixocutis. ECOLOGY: Scattered; saprobic on soil among litter in broad-leaved conifer forest (Dacrycarpus). June DISTRIBUTION: NZ (AK).
