These fungi have small fruit bodies which are completely closed at first, then the top crumbles away, to leave a cup which contains spore-bearing tissue called peridioles. When raindrops land in the cup, the peridioles are propelled into the air, thus dispersing the spore. More Information

The cup of this fungi is white and woolly on the outside and brown on the inside. The peridioles are shiny red brown without an attached cord. The surface of the peridioles is sticky and adheres to anything it lands on. Pevious called N. candida in New Zealand.
