A smooth‑capped, reddish‑brown Laccaria with pale buff‑pink lamellae and a slender reddish stipe, forming gregarious clusters on moist forest litter. Distinct from the brown‑scaled hygrophanous complex and lacking violaceous tones, suggesting an undescribed species.

Note: This keys out as L. fraterna, but I don't like this as the spores in particular show little in the way of spines, more of a textured surface (beyond my microscope to resolve at 1000x).

Cap: Small, 15-30 mm in diameter; convex when young, becoming broadly convex to plano-convex at maturity, with a depressed centre. The surface is dry, smooth, and non-viscid, covered by small squamules that concentrate towards the centre. The margin is even and striate. The colour ranges from reddish-brown to warm chestnut, darker at the centre and sometimes slightly paler towards the margin.
Gills: Subdistant, intermixed, thick, typical of Laccaria. Colour pale buff‑pink to pinkish‑tan, matching the stipe flesh. Edges smooth.
Stipe: Slender, measuring 30-60 mm in length and 24 mm in diameter, approximately uniform or slightly tapering towards the apex. The surface is dry, hollow, and smooth. The colour ranges from reddish-brown to dark reddish, particularly in younger basidiomes, transitioning to buff-brown near the base. White basal mycelium.
