A delicate, dark-capped, blue-stiped species notable for its two-tone colouration: a fuscous to black pileus with pale pinkish margin, and a steel-blue stipe fading to grey-blue.

Pileus: 15-20(-30) mm, ovate when young, then convex, finally expanded with a flat disc. Colour fuscous to black, paler or argillaceous‑pink toward the strongly transparent‑striate margin. Centre minutely squamulose or scurfy; margin fibrillose. Thin, fragile, dry.
Lamellae: 24–32 reaching stipe, with 3-7 lamellulae, subfree to adnexed, ventricose, narrow (to 4 mm). Initially isabel with a pale blue tinge, gradually becoming pink. Edges entire, concolorous or very pale brown.
Stipe: 30-45 x 1-1.5 mm, cylindrical, slender, equal or slightly thickened at base (to 2 mm). At first dark steel‑blue, becoming grey‑blue; base with white mycelium. Smooth, dry, fistulose, fragile, solitary.
Context: thin, concolorous.
Odour/taste: not distinctive.
