Pileus: 10-40 mm diam., umbilicate, with the margin persistently inrolled (never upturned). Pure white when young, later becoming pinkish. Surface innately fibrillose, occasionally tomentose at the centre; dry; striate near the margin.
Lamellae: broadly adnate to decurrent, sinuate, white, turning deep pink with age. Edges white, fimbriate, densely crowded.
Stipe: 25-50 x 3-4 mm, cylindrical, sometimes eccentric. White and waxy, becoming yellowish in age. Dry, glabrous, but with a dense white basal weft. Fistulose.
Context: white.
Odour/taste: acidulous.
