A small, dark olive‑brown Phlegmacium with a viscid cap often ornamented with pale‑ochre veil tufts when young. Gills blue‑grey, rather distant, narrowly emarginate. Stipe deep turquoise‑blue, shimmering on the upper half, brownish below with pale yellow veil tufts; apex pale blue.

Pileus: 20–35 mm diam., obtusely rounded when young, later convex to plano‑convex. Surface viscid, not hygrophanous. Colour blackish‑brown with an olive tinge on the disc; margin concolorous but often with pale‑ochre veil tufts. Surface glabrous to finely innate‑fibrillose; young caps often partly covered with pale ochre spots, tufts, and fibrils from the universal veil. Margin not striate.
Lamellae: narrowly emarginate, rather distant (L = 4, l = 2). Colour blue‑grey when young, edge slightly paler.
Stipe: 25–50 × 2–8 mm, cylindrical to slightly clavate, dry, partly hollow. Colour deep turquoise‑blue, somewhat shimmering on the upper half; flushing brown below with pale yellow tufts; apex pale blue.
Veil pale ochraceous, often copious; cortina white to yellowish‑grey.
Context: dark blue‑green to blackish‑green, more violaceous in the stipe‑base.
Odour/taste: Odour faint..Taste nil.
