A large white, viscid, non‑hygrophanous Thaxterogaster growing fasciculately under Nothofagus. Cap white with faint yellow‑buff disc, margin long‑involute; lamellae white, crowded; stipe white, deeply radicant, with thick white girdles. Fairly common; New Zealand.

Pileus: 35-75-140) mm, globose to convex to plane. Viscid, not hygrophanous. White, sometimes with a faint yellow–buff disc, later pale ochre. Surface glabrous to finely innate‑fibrillose. Margin long‑involute, becoming upturned in age.
Lamellae: White to greyish‑white. Broadly emarginate, crowded (L = 98–110, l = 1–2). Edge concolorous, slightly serrulate.
Stipe: 60-100 x 10-23 mm, fusoid or tapering, deeply radicant (often markedly so). Dry, white, with thick white girdles; sometimes peronate with a thin collar. Universal veil white, copious. Cortina white.
Context: White, unchanging; compact, tough in stipe.
