A small, pale yellow, unbranched club fungus forming scattered to gregarious fruitbodies on soil or moss. Distinguished by its very slender habit, uniform pale colour, and consistently simple (unbranched) clubs. New Zealand material is sparse and may be under-recorded.

Fruitbodies: Slender, cylindrical, always unbranched.
Apex: Rounded or slightly tapered; sometimes minutely translucent.
Colour: Pale yellow to cream‑yellow; usually paler than C. helvola, sometimes almost whitish at the base.
Surface: Smooth, matte; flesh soft and fragile.
Base: Narrow, often whitish, occasionally slightly rooting into the substrate.
Size: 0-60 mm tall, 1-2 mm thick.
Growth habit: Usually scattered, occasionally in small groups.
