A slender, erect, unbranched club fungus, typically bright orange to orange-yellow, arising from soil or forest litter. Fruitbodies smooth, cylindrical, and often slightly tapered toward the tip. Usually scattered or in small groups.

Form: Cylindrical, sometimes slightly flattened Unbranched Surface smooth
Size 20-80 mm tall, 2–5 mm thick.
Growth habit: Scattered or in small groups
Flesh: Soft, flexible when fresh; becoming brittle when dry. Colour matching the exterior.
