A small, dull-coloured agaric distinguished by its dry, matt, pale rose-tinged cap, widely spaced decurrent gills, and smooth, inamyloid spores. Typical of Hodophilus, the overall appearance is subdued, with soft pinkish or buff tones rather than vivid colours. Rarely collected and easily overlooked.

Cap: 5-10 mm, convex to plano‑convex, surface dry, smooth, matt, pale rose‑buff, pinkish‑cream, or faintly flesh‑coloured, often fading toward buff or greyish with age. Margin even, sometimes slightly translucent‑striate when moist.
Gills: Broadly to strongly decurrent, distant, thickish, pale cream to pinkish‑buff, sometimes with a faint rosy tint when young.
Stipe: 20-50 x 2-5 mm, cylindrical, fibrous, dry, concolorous with or paler than the cap; base sometimes slightly thickened.
Flesh: Thin, whitish to pale buff; odour faint or indistinct.
