Chlorencoelia is a small genus of saprobic discomycetes producing cup- to disc-shaped apothecia, usually dark olive, greenish-black, or brown-black. Apothecia are sessile or short-stalked, smooth, and often slightly gelatinous when fresh. The hymenium is exposed at maturity and typically darker than the outer surface.
